THE ENVIRONMENTALIST CYCLIST
Is the bicycle just a means of transport or an
expression of environmental consciousness?

Toronto, ON, October 9, 2007 - Cyclists unite at
the 2007 Planet In Focus film festival taking place from October 24-28.

In You Never Bike Alone a growing grassroots
movement that protests, barters and re-imagines a
more bike-friendly world brings communities
together to promote a healthier and more
sustainable environment. Drawing on a decade of
footage, it captures the fun, the road rage, and
the camaraderie of riding a bike en masse in Vancouver.

You Never Bike Alone is produced, written,
directed and edited by journalist Robert Alstead
for <http://ICYCLE.CA>ICYCLE.CA Productions. A long-time cyclist,
he has worked on numerous short films and
documentary projects. In You Never Bike Alone he
weaves together his own footage and that of
bicycle activists shot over the course of the
last decade. The film will premiere at the 2007
Planet In Focus (PIF) International on October
26, 2007 at 9:30 pm at Innis Town Hall.

-40 Degrees Celcius features in the Spotlight
Program: Polar Visions, and follows the morning
commute of an on-call school teacher, played by
director Paul Davis, as he rides his bike through
the woods in Yukon Territory and across the
Alaska highway on route to a tiny classroom. Paul
Davis is a consummate storyteller who has just
recently arrived on the French Canadian TV market
with films on Radio Canada's Ça Vaut le Detour
and the Tromso International film Festival. A
Bilingual cinéaste, writer, and actor, Davis also
does his own stunts, -40C is his first film. The
director will be present at the screening.

The short cold front will sweep across the 2007
PIF International Environmental Film & Video
Festival with the screening of Canadian short
form film -40 Degrees Celcius at Innis Town Hall on October 26 at 9:30 pm.

Planet in Focus is Canada's most acclaimed
international environmental film and video
festival, and runs from October 24-28. This
year's Spotlight Program is Polar Visions to
coincide with the 2007 International Polar Year.
