A video recently released shows shocking footage of Robert Dziekanski, a
new immigrant to Canada from Poland, being tasered to death by 50,000
volts of electricity by the RCMP. Dziekanski, at the Vancouver airport,
had been waiting for 10 hours, had finally tried voicing his frustration.
He didn't speak English. The video was recorded by a passerby, and was
released on Nov 14, on CBC.

THE GREEN MAN

I AM THE GREEN MAN
King of the forest
compassionate and ferocious
I take no prisoners
cruel and fair
I offer my ear to you
my love and my poison
drink !
see what dreams may come
you may come undone
forever changed
are you game
for this fantastic voyage of trust ...

** to hear the rest of this poem, you will have to attend the NOW Project
performance @ the NOW Lounge on Church Street : Sunday November 25th 8 pm.
Nigel Wolf's unique spoken word Tantric Rap is illuminated by the
immaculate musicianship of the NOW Project band -- many of whom were part

Affordable housing in a powerful positive contributor to the health of
Toronto's economy, environment, neighbourhoods and residents. But for
some 200,000 families and individuals, affordable housing is a rapidly
fading dream. They often pay more than 50% of their income on rent. Home
ownership is certainly not within their financial reach. The City of
Toronto is preparing a 10-year affordable housing plan and this timely
Forum will contribute to the shape of Toronto's housing future.

The evening will feature a showing of Meet the Dream Team, a short film
produced for the Ontario Non Profit Housing Association.

Panelists:
Angie Hains, Executive Director, Ecuhome Corporation, Past President of
Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association
David Hulchanski, Director, Centre for Urban and Community Studies,
Professor of Social Work, U of T
Diane MacLean, Board Member, Regent Park Neighbourhood Initiative
Sean Gadon, Director of Partnerships, Affordable Housing Office, City of
Toronto

Federal and provincial representatives have been invited. Panel followed
