Pedal Power! A Multidisciplinary Group Exhibition

Hotshot celebrates Toronto Bike Month with Pedal Power! a
group exhibition featuring photography, paintings, video installations,
illustration and bike inspired artwork. This group show of local artists

Pedal Power! is curated by Karlen Chang, Ella Cooper and John Smaller

Do you ride on Annette?

The proposed bike lane on Annette is in jeopardy. Please write today in
support of the full bike lane. Some businesses have persuaded the
Councillor, Bill Saundercook, to not support the full bike lane. This is a
grave mistake. Meanwhile, many residents in the are were not notified of
the bike lane proposal and have not had a chance to speak out in favour of
the full bike lane.

We are asking people in the ward and people across the City who support
safe cycling to take a few minutes to write a letter to the Public Works
and Infrastructure Committee <pwic at toronto.ca>
which makes recommendations Wednesday -- *tomorrow* -- and to the local
councillor Bill Saundercook. <councillor_saundercook at toronto.ca >, and if

My Name Is Rachel Corrie -- the play

In 2003 American activist, Rachel Corrie was killed by an Israeli army
bulldozer. She was 23 years old. Alan Rickman and Katharine Viner edited
Rachel's diaries and emails turning them into a play, "My Name Is Rachel
Corrie". The play was produced by the Royal Court Theatre in London where
it played to sold out audiences and wide acclaim. Subsequent attempts to
mount the play have met with stiff resistance from supporters of Israeli
apartheid - including a year ago when a scheduled production at the St.
Lawrence Centre for the Performing Arts was pulled.

Freedom of speech will not be silenced, and so it is that My Name Is
Rachel Corrie has found a home at the Tarragon Extra Space.

The play will be running from May 29 - June 22.

Kids Helping Kids!

Announcing a wonderful concert/performance opportunity for kids to help
kids in Burma.

Sunday, June 8th, 3 - 5 p.m.
at the Narayever Synagogue on Brunswick Ave, South of Bloor.

All kids welcome to come perform - music, skits, anything fun.
All adults welcome to attend, and donate what you can.
All donations $20 or more will be eligible for tax deduction. Receipts
will be provided.
All Funds raised will go to the Cyclone Relief Fund, and be transmitted to
Buddhist monks working on the ground voluntarily in the devastated
regions.
Funds raised will be matched dollar for dollar by the Canadian Government.

Kids: please come by 2.00 p.m. so we can arrange an order of performance.

in partnership with Anarres Natural Health and Women's Voices for the
Earth, an inspiring women's environmental health organization working to
educate consumers about chemicals in cleaning products.  You'll go home
with your very own set of easy-to-make cleaning products (plus recipes)
that have been tested for effectiveness and are good for your health and
the environment!

The workshop is Pay-What-You-Can, with a suggested donation of $10, plus
$5 per product you come home with. Bring empty spritzer and squeeze
bottles for yourself and to share.

This day-long festival in Toronto’s Cedarvale Park promotes public space,
local and organic food, local sustainable business, nature appreciation,
