Sign the <http://www.ontariosgreenfuture.ca/petition2.php> Petition Calling
for a Moratorium on New Nuclear Projects

If you think we should spend the next six months examining the effectiveness
of these options instead of on hearings
<http://www.nuclearsafety.gc.ca/eng/readingroom/newbuilds/opg_darlington/fol
low-the-cnsc-at-the-darlington-jrp-hearing.cfm#tollfree> for new nuclear
reactors when Ontario Power Generation can
<http://www.thestar.com/business/companies/article/961876--nuclear-question-
marks> 't even tell us what technology will actually be deployed or who will
supply it, then sign our petition
<http://www.ontariosgreenfuture.ca/petition2.php> in support of a
moratorium on new nuclear projects until the province has fully explored the
potential to meet our electricity needs using a mix of lower cost and safer
options.

This is a turning point in ending our costly reliance on nuclear power -
tell the Ontario Government it is time to rethink its priorities.

Sign the petition <http://www.ontariosgreenfuture.ca/petition2.php> now and
we'll make sure your voice is heard in the Ontario Legislature! Thank you!

Liability cap on Canada's nuclear plants 'outdated'

Canadian nuclear plant operators would have to pay no more than $75-million
in liability claims if a nuclear disaster like that unfolding in Japan were
to occur in Canada. Nuclear critics say that's a tiny fraction of the
billions in health and damage claims that could result, and even Canada's
nuclear industry thinks it is too low. But a 1970s-era law, still on the
books, caps the operators' civil liability.

Consultant Skeptical About Need For Nuclear Power

Paul McKay was an award-winning journalist and the author of two books on
our country's nuclear industry. As hearings get underway into the proposal
to build new reactors at Darlington, McKay insists there is still too much
uncertainty about the safety of the technology to proceed.
