This year marks a tremendous achievement for the Ontario Clean Air Alliance (OCAA) – the end of coal burning in Ontario. But we’re not done. Our goal now is to move Ontario towards a 100% renewable electricity grid by combining Made-in-Ontario green energy with energy conservation and efficiency and low-cost water power from Quebec. It’s an ambitious goal, but it is the kind of big change we need if we are going to have any hope of controlling our runaway climate crisis. And we can do it. Just like we took down coal, we can build up green. It has the potential to reduce electricity costs by a) importing low-cost water power from Quebec and Manitoba, and b) ramping up energy efficiency efforts.

This open-ended approval means OPG’s Darlington new reactor proposal isn’t dead. It’s undead.

Take Action!

Thanks to everyone that voted for my “idea” on Wynne’s Common Ground website – to import water power from Quebec rather than rebuilding Darlington or extending Pickering at much higher cost. It was voted by 353 people, bringing it up to #19 of 1701 ideas!
