Given the glut of electricity being produced, he asked, “Do we even need the station, because we have a surplus of electricity.” (Good question - the answer is no! -a)

This compares with the current cost of the nuclear debt recovery charge of $980 million/yr. This increase in rates, if approved, would amount to $1.4 billion per year. The true scandals of Ontario electricity system lie not in the gas plants, but in our nuclear follies.
