August 6th marks the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The uranium for those bombs came from Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan is the second largest exporter of uranium in the world. Uranium is used for only 2 things – nuclear bombs and nuclear power. Both produce toxic radioactive wastes that will be deadly for millions of years. No country in the world knows how to neutralize or safely store such wastes.
