Paris was mostly car free on Sunday and people loved it. The mayor said: "we're not afraid to live without cars, with other ways of getting around. It's a normal modern legitimate movement for our big cities because pollution in our cities is a killer"

The Economics of Real Life - with Dr. Jim Stanford, Economist, Unifor
Tue Oct 6, 6:30 pm
Elizabeth Beeton Auditorium, Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street
Most people think economics is a dull, technical subject- filled with math, graphs, and complicated financial concepts. In other words, it's a subject best left to the "experts". But in fact, economics is something we all experience, every day, in our own lives. And it turns out that our economy depends more on concrete, "mundane" forces like work, family, and care, than on the frenetic paper chase of financial markets. Join Jim Stanford, economist for Unifor and author of Economics for Everyone, as he describes a more accessible and democratic vision for economics.
