May 24, 2018☢ NDP & Greens call for closure of Pickering Nuclear Station In response to our all-leaders election questionnaire, the NDP and GPO have called for the closure of Pickering in Aug. 2018 when its licence expires, to be replaced with lower cost water power from QC. The Liberals and the PC's have committed to extending Pickering till 2024, and have come out swinging against the NDP.☢ Please send a letter here to NDP Leader Horwath and Green Party Leader Schreiner thanking them for standing up to the nuclear lobby, and putting forward a fact-based electricity plan that will lower bills by $1.1 billion/year, return security to our waterfront, and create 32,000 person-years of employment through decommissioning.Ontario☢ Ford vs. Electricity Facts Here are the facts that PC Leader Ford conveniently ignored.☢ Ontario NDP only party speaking out against nuclear waste bunker near Lake Huron Good for the NDP!
