#ReclaimArmisticeDay

November 11 was proclaimed Armistice Day after World War I. But during the Korean War, the Congress rebranded it “Veterans Day” and turned the meaning on its head. For several years now, Veterans For Peace has been working to reclaim November 11 as Armistice Day, a day when we commit ourselves to abolishing war. Instead of celebrating militarism, we call for a celebration of peace and all of humanity. We demand an end to all forms of hate, patriarchy and white supremacy and we call for unity, fair treatment under the law and equality for all. We know Peace is Possible and call for an end to all oppressive and violent policies, and for equality for all people.
