Free Lead Test for your Toys
Date: Thursday December 11, 2008
Venue: The Parents Resource Centre at 1117 Gerrard St. East (SE
corner of Leslie & Gerrard)
Time: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Are you worried about the safety of your children’s toys? I am.
I’m a documentary filmmaker currently shooting a doc about toxins and
baby products for Global TV. I’ve heard a lot about lead in
children’s toys and have decided to find out how toxic my toys are.
I’ve found an industry standard lead testing machine, the Niton XRF
analyzer and a technician trained to test toys for heavy metals like
lead. I am inviting all parents who are concerned about this issue
to come out to our toy testing event which will be filmed for the
documentary.
Note: This is a free event, only your permission to film your toy
test is required. There is a limit of three toys per household.
Toys that are most suspect are red coloured or brightly painted, made
of soft plastic or costume jewellery.

Come watch Tales of a Yellow Bike - the movie about CBN's BikeShare
program and about one yellow bike as it travels the world.
We'll also have hot chocolate, apple cider and snacks for all!
In a world of automobiles, can one woman on a yellow bike make a
difference? Perhaps not. But a fleet of bikes might create a new
model for sustainable transportation.
Tales of a Yellow Bike travels the world with Maogosha Pyjor looking
for a chain reaction in the realm of pedal politics as the Community
Bike Network in Toronto contemplates options for its BikeShare program.
Join us on a trip that takes us to Amsterdam, Beijing, Bogotá, New
York, La Rochelle, Paris and back to Toronto.
